Detective Nathan Woods

Amador County Sheriff’s Office

Nathan started basic police academy in 2006, where he graduated as a Platoon Leader and earned the “Best Overall Recruit” award. While attending academy, Nathan was hired by the Amador County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy sheriff. As a deputy sheriff, he worked patrol before being selected as the Contract Cities Deputy and was a member of the T.E.A.M. In 2010, Nathan was hired by the Lodi Police Department as a police officer. During his tenure with the Lodi Police Department, he held the following assignments: patrol, detective in the Special Investigations Unit, gang enforcement team, bicycle team, F.E.T., cadet advisor and he also earned the title of Master Officer. In 2017, Nathan returned to the Amador County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy sheriff and is currently assigned as a detective to the Investigations Bureau. He is also a Field Training Officer, Background Investigator, and a member of the Crisis Negotiations Team. Nathan has earned his Intermediate and Advanced POST certificates and holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Management. Nathan and his wife, Chrystle have been married for over 16 years and they have three children together; Addison, Darci and Cameron.
Nathan values his working relationship with Operation Care, as they provide a much needed service to victims both during and after the investigative and legal processes.
