What is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.  GivingTuesday strives to build a world in which the catalytic power of generosity is at the heart of the society we build together, unlocking dignity, opportunity, and equity around the globe.

When is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday falls on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.  This year it will be held on 11/30/2021.

How do I participate in Giving Tuesday?

There are hundreds of ways to participate in GivingTuesday. Whether you give your voice, goods, your time, or your money, being generous is a way to fight for the causes you care about and help people in need.  Operation Care would greatly appreciate monetary donations on Giving Tuesday.

Amador Community Foundation gives a special local twist to #GivingTuesday: All donations made ON 11/30/2021 receive extra incentives from our Matching Grant Sponsors! Your dollars will go further on Giving Tuesday as Amador Community Foundation generously matches a percentage of donations that day! Donations to Operation Care on Giving Tuesday can be accepted here.

How will monetary donations from Giving Tuesday be used?

Since 1980, Operation Care has provided FREE confidential services to domestic violence and sexual assault victims, including but not limited to counseling, group, restraining order assistance, a 24 hour crisis line, emergency shelter and response. All donations received by Operation Care during Giving Tuesday and beyond are used to assist Operation Care clients in Amador County.
